Michael attended University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and graduated with an M.S. Degree in Education Psychology with an emphasis on Community Counseling in 1976. He did a practicum in counseling at Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago, IL. He has worked at DePaul Hospital in 1972 to 1998, Charter Hospital from 1998 to 2000 and joined ARO Behavioral Healthcare in 2000.
Michael currently works primarily with adults. At Horizon Healthcare, he is doing alcohol/drug assessments and AODA group counseling and works the Monday & Thursday evening groups and Tuesday, Wednesday and friday daytime programs. Michael′s main focus is in alcohol/drug counseling and has specialized in the area of counseling older adults. His counseling techniques is person-centered and cognitive approach.
On a personal note, he has been married over 35 years and has two adult daughters. During his free time he enjoys jogging and shooting around the basketball. He also enjoys going to basketball and soccer games.
Jane is a licensed marriage and family therapist and has a Masters degree in Social Work. She received her post graduate training in Marriage and Family Therapy. The population Jane serves are adults, individually as well as couples and families. Her main focus is on interpersonal relational issues and underlying presenting symptoms of anxiety and depression. Jane′s therapy model is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Sonja attended college at Waukesha County Technical College, and graduated in 2010 with an associate′s degree in Health and Human Services, specializing in AODA. She completed an internship with ARO′s Oak Creek Clinic, and was hired in 2010. Currently Sonja works out of the Brown Deer and Greenfield clinics as a Substance Abuse Counselor in training. She is a full-time employee and works Monday through Friday. Sonja currently attends the University of Ottawa, where she is working to obtain her Bachelor′s Degree in Human Services, with a projected graduation date of 2013.
Sonja enjoys working with adults who face addiction. She facilitates four group sessions per week, as well as individual sessions and AODA assessments. Her focus is on relapse prevention and motivational therapy techniques.
Between work and school obligations, Sonja enjoys spending time with her two children, playing recreational volleyball, and relaxing with friends and family whenever possible.
